School Bus Monitor Killed In Crash With State Police Patrol Car
Authorities said the crash happened Tuesday on Route 55 in LaGrange.
LAGRANGE, NY — An Arlington Central School District bus monitor was killed Tuesday afternoon in a crash involving a state police patrol car.
Two adult students, the bus driver and the trooper were taken to area hospitals with injuries that were considered not to be life-threatening.
The New York State Police said the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday on Route 55 at South Cross Road.

The bus monitor was pronounced dead at the scene by LaGrange Fire Department paramedics, police said.
Parents of the students were notified, and police said the investigation is ongoing.

On the Arlington website, Superintendent Dave Moyer said the district's "thoughts and prayers are with the monitor's family, friends, and colleagues.
"I know that you all join me in sending them our heartfelt condolences," he said. "As a community, we will continue to support the family during the days ahead."
Moyer said the district's team of psychologists, social workers and counselors would be available for any student or staff member who needs support at this time.
Counselors from the Employee Assistance Program will be available at the Arlington and LaGrange Bus Garages between 10 a.m and 2 p.m. Wednesday.
