Sen. James Skoufis Tests Positive For Coronavirus

The first-term senator began feeling symptoms Tuesday.

WOODBURY, NY — State Sen. James Skoufis, a Democrat from Woodbury, has tested positive for the new coronavirus. The first-term senator began feeling symptoms Tuesday and received his test results Friday.

Skoufis is isolated at his home and, according to his spokeswoman, has had worsening symptoms, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.

The state Senate District No. 39 is comprised of parts of Orange, Rockland and Ulster counties.
