Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Parts Of Hudson Valley

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Parts of the Hudson Valley are under a severe thunderstorm watch.

The National Weather Service issued the watch at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday for Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Ulster counties.

The watch is in effect until midnight.

Showers or thunderstorms are expected through the evening, the weather service said.

There is a marginal to slight risk for severe thunderstorms, but the main threat will be damaging wind gusts as storms track west to east across the area.
