Severe Thunderstorms Possible In The Mid-Hudson: NWS
The threat for storms has diminished at the south end of the valley.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A hazardous outlook has been updated for Dutchess and Ulster counties even as the threat of storms diminishes for the lower Hudson Valley and utility companies work to repair scattered outages.
The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has placed the mid-Hudson in a marginal to slight risk for severe thunderstorms pretty much all day Tuesday, with the highest probability for storms in the afternoon.

The main hazard from any severe thunderstorm is damaging winds. There is also a marginal risk for excessive rainfall today due to heavy downpours from storms that may result in localized poor drainage or urbanized flooding.

Then a flow out of Canada will usher in some of the coolest air we've seen since spring," Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather said on Facebook.
