HUDSON VALLEY, NY — High heat, humidity, and thunderstorms are in the forecast for the Hudson Valley region in the coming days, according to meteorologists.

The National Weather Service predicts today will be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid-80s.

A significant change in the weather pattern starts on Thursday, with hot and humid conditions expected through the weekend, forecasters said.

“Humid conditions are expected throughout this week across eastern New York and western New England, with dew points reaching into the low-to-mid 70s by the end of the week,” the National Weather Service said. “Paired with high temperatures in the 80s, many locations across the region can expect heat indices ("feels-like" temperatures) in the 90s, particularly on Thursday and Friday!”

Thursday’s high temperatures will be around 89 degrees, though heat index values will be as high as 99. There is a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. and until around midnight.

Friday’s weather will be similar to Thursday, with humid conditions again. Friday will be partly sunny, with highs around 89. Showers are likely, with thunderstorms possible after 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

On Saturday, meteorologists predict partly sunny skies, high temperatures around 88 degrees, and a chance for showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. and into the evening.
