Severe Weather Forecast This Weekend In Hudson Valley: Here's When, What To Expect
The weekend brings the potential for thunderstorms, according to meteorologists.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Showers and potentially severe thunderstorms are expected Saturday afternoon and evening in the Hudson Valley region, according to the National Weather Service.
“Scattered severe thunderstorms may produce damaging wind gusts, with an isolated tornado also possible,” the National Weather Service said. “Stay weather aware if you have outdoor plans Saturday.”
Heavy rainfall on Saturday could lead to isolated to scattered flash flooding, meteorologists said.

The National Weather Service predicts Sunday will start out partly sunny, then gradually become sunny. High temperatures on Sunday will reach around 81 degrees in the Hudson Valley.
Here are the forecast details for the Mid-Hudson Valley area via the National Weather Service:
Tonight: Patchy smoke after 2 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. Calm wind.
Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 4 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe. Widespread smoke, mainly before 4 p.m. High near 82. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Some of the storms could be severe. Areas of smoke before 10 p.m. Low around 64. South wind 5 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday: Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 81. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 54. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
