MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — More severe weather is possible in parts of the mid-Hudson Valley Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties.

There is a marginal to slight risk for severe weather Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Meteorologists said the main threat is isolated to scattered damaging wind gusts.

Locally heavy rainfall could result in isolated minor urban and poor drainage flooding.

The weather service also said that there is a chance of thunderstorms Friday through Sunday, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours.

A return of warm and humid conditions may result in heat index values reaching the mid and upper 90s Friday in the Hudson Valley. Heat advisories may be necessary.
