Significant Icing, Mixed Precipitation In Forecast For Mid-Hud
An ice storm warning and and winter weather advisory have been issued for parts of the region.

A weather system moving into the Hudson Valley Sunday could bring mixed precipitation with significant accumulations of ice. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for parts of the mid-Hudson Valley.
The advisory is in effect from 5 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m Tuesday for Columbia, Dutchess and eastern Ulster counties.
The weather service said mixed precipitation is expected, with total snow and sleet accumulations of up to 1 inch and ice accumulations of around a glaze to a tenth of an inch.

Greater ice accumulation of up to a third of an inch is possible across higher terrain.
Some power outages and tree damage are possible due to the ice. Travel could be difficult.

The hazardous conditions will impact Monday's morning and evening commutes.
Meteorologists said snow, sleet and ice accumulations will vary from location to location due to variations in timing of different precipitation types.
There is also an ice storm warning in effect from 4 p.m. Sunday to 1 a.m. Tuesday for Sullivan County and from 4 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Tuesday for western Ulster County. It calls for significant icing due to freezing rain. Total snow and sleet accumulations of up to 1 inch and ice accumulations of a half to three-quarters of an inch are expected for western Ulster.
For Sullivan County, meteorologists are expecting total ice accumulations around a quarter to one half of an inch, with amounts has high as three quarters of an inch possible above 1,800 feet. Total sleet accumulations of less than one1inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
Travel could be impossible, the weather service said. Power outages and tree damage is expected due to the ice. Monday's morning and evening commutes will be impacted.
