Snow Changes Mid Hudson School Schedules Thursday

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — With a mixture of light rain and snow falling across the region Thursday morning and temperatures dropping below freezing, school districts across the region have announced 2-hour delays or remote learning days.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement early Thursday warning motorists to anticipate slippery travel and use extra caution. The NWS said the snow will continue through the rest of the morning commute, tapering off late this morning. Snowfall accumulations around an inch are expected. Roads may become snow-covered, especially on untreated surfaces. Any standing water or snow that initially melted could freeze.

Here is a list of local school districts that have changed their schedules as of 6 a.m.:

• Archbishop Stepinac High School: All classes remote learning
• Ardsley: 2-hour delay
• Beacon: 2-hour delay
• Bedford: 3-hour delay
• Carmel: 2-hour delay
• Chappaqua: 3-hour delay
• Clarkstown: 2-hour delay, staggered openings
• Dover: 2-hour delay
• East Ramapo: remote learning, all afternoon activities canceled
• Eastchester: 2-hour delay
• Edgemont: 2-hour delay
• Elmsford: 2-hour delay
• Garrison: 2-hour delay
• Greenburgh: 2-hour delay
• Hastings: 2-hour delay
• Iona Prep: no classes, exams rescheduled
• Irvington: 2-hour delay
• Lakeland: 2-hour delay
• Marlboro: 2-hour delay
• Nanuet: 2-hour delay
• New Paltz: 2-hour delay
• North Rockland: 2-hour delay
• North Salem: 2-hour delay

• Webutuck: Webutuck Elementary School is on a 2 hour "In Person" delay. The HS and EBIS will be on regular "remote instruction." High School interviews are as scheduled.
