“A clipper system looks to track near or just south of the area tonight into Tuesday bringing some snow showers or a localized rain/snow mix,” the National Weather Service said.

Northern sections of the Hudson Valley region could get a coating to a half inch of snow, while southern areas will see no accumulation, according to the National Weather Service.

“Snow accumulations will be most noticeable on non-paved surfaces,” the National Weather Service said.

It cautions that motorists may encounter slippery conditions on Tuesday morning, particularly in higher elevation areas.

“There is some uncertainty with the track of this low and where the greatest coverage of snow showers will set up,” the National Weather Service said.

The National Weather Service’s New York office predicts increasing cloudiness starting this evening, and “a few light rain, snow, and sleet showers are possible overnight into a part of tomorrow.”

It anticipates precipitation will begin after midnight and last into early Tuesday.

After this system passes, the Hudson Valley is expected to have dry conditions through the weekend, with high temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday in the 50s, followed by a warming trend and daytime highs in the 60s for Friday through Sunday.
