Snow, Wintry Mix Possible; Hazardous Weather Outlooks Issued

Almost the entire region is facing the possibility of wintry weather.

Rain and snow is expected in parts of the Hudson Valley Tuesday. Because of that, the National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties.

The NWS said light accumulations of snow of 1 to 3 inches are possible over the higher elevations by late morning.

Precipitation should change to all rain by the late morning.

Also, the NWS has issued hazardous weather outlooks for Thursday into Friday.

For Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties, there is a potential for a moderate snowfall accumulation Thursday night into Friday with a coastal low pressure system.

The NWS said if confidence increases, winter weather headlines may be needed later.

For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester, there is the potential for the first accumulating wintry mix of the season late Thursday and Thursday night, prompting the NWS to issue a hazardous weather outlook for those counties.
