Snowstorm Upgraded To Blizzard Warning From Putnam, Orange North

The area had previously been under a winter storm warning.

The National Weather Service has expanded the blizzard warnings for the Hudson Valley to include Dutchess, Orange, Putnam and Ulster counties.

The Blizzard Warning is in effect from midnight Tuesday, March 14 to midnight Wednesday, March 15.

At times there will be heavy snowfall, white-out conditions and blowing and drifting of snow.

Snowfall rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour are possible during the day Tuesday resulting in 18 to 24 inches of snow accumulations.

There will also be northeast 15 to 25 mph winds with gusts up to 35 mph.

Visibilities will be less than 1 mile with 1/4 mile or less for a period during the day Tuesday.

Temperatures will be in the 20s during the day and teens at night.
