Storm, Flood Advisory For Dutchess AM

Do not drive through flooded roadways, the National Weather Service warns.

The National Weather Service warns about a strong thunderstorm nearly stationary near Rhinebeck.

At 651 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Stanfordville, or near Rhinebeck. The storm is nearly stationary. This storm will be near Stanfordville around 740 AM EDT.
Other locations impacted by this storm include Lafayetteville, McIntyre, Wurtemburg, Market, Attlebury, Stissing, Mount Ross, Milan, Willow Brook and Bangall.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Down valley, the National Weather Service posted this warning for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties:

Visibilities will be below 1 mile within patchy dense fog this morning with localized visibilities down to a quarter to a half mile at times. Motorists commuting should be prepared for rapid changes in visibility and proceed with extra caution. Drive carefully, allow for extra spacing and use low beam headlights.
