Strong Thunderstorms, Winds Headed To Ulster, Dutchess

Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with this storm.

A special weather statement has been issued by the National Weather Service for parts of the mid-Hudson Valley. An area of heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms will affect southeastern Ulster and southwestern Dutchess counties.

At 7:03 a.m., strong thunderstorms were clustered over West Point, moving north northeast at 25 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with this storm.

  • Beacon around 735 AM EDT.
  • Fishkill around 740 AM EDT.
  • Plattekill and Marlboro around 745 AM EDT.
  • Wappingers Falls around 750 AM EDT.
  • Myers Corner and Hopewell Junction around 755 AM EDT.
  • Poughkeepsie, Highland, Red Oaks Mill and Fairview around 800 AM EDT.

Other locations impacted by this storm include Tuckers Corner, Stormville, Knapps Corner, Beekman, New Hamburg, Glenham, Elting Corners, Clove Valley, Billings and Stoneco.

This includes Interstate 87 near exit 18.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
