As The Sun Set, Teen Hiker With Dying Cellphone Battery Reported She Was Lost
The story has a happy ending after first responders in Tuxedo launched a massive rescue effort as the clocked ticked.

TUXEDO, NY — An Orange County teen is recovering from exposure after a hike turned into a harrowing experience overnight.
The Tuxedo teenager went hiking on the trails in the East Village, but as the sun set, her cellphone battery died, but not before she was able to call family members to tell them she was lost.
"We were dispatched to the area and with the assistance of the New York State Police, New York State Park Police, State Park Rangers, Rockland and Orange County Sheriff's K9 and Drone Team, Town of Woodbury K9, NYPD helicopter, Tuxedo Ambulance, Rockland Paramedics, Spring Hill Ambulance, Tuxedo Fire Department and the help of local residents the teenager was found very far into the woods," Tuxedo Police said in an update. "Thank you all for an outstanding job well done."

Authorities said the teen was taken to the hospital for exposure to the cold, but in good condition.
