Suspicious Vehicle Stop Leads To Felony Drug Arrest
Troopers said the driver was under the influence of drugs and the passenger was in possession of over 38 grams of crack-cocaine.
DOVER, NY — Troopers say the occupants of a "suspicious vehicle" were up to more than just leaf-peeping this weekend.
On Saturday, the New York State Police from the Dover Plains barracks arrested Robert W. Beebe, 47, of Dover, for driving while under the influence of drugs, a misdemeanor, and Shannan A. Mead, 33, of Dover, for felony criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
At 2:21 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the area of Route 22 and North Nellie Hill Road for a suspicious vehicle. A 2006 Volkswagen Jetta matching the description was located on North Nellie Hill Road. Troopers said the driver, Beebe, was under the influence of drugs and Mead was in possession of over 38 grams of crack-cocaine.

Beebe was issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket returnable to the town of Dover Court for November 13.
Mead was arraigned in the town of Dover Court and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to reappear before the court on October 16.
