Taconic Rollover Crash Ends With Felony Drug Arrest

Troopers reported that the driver was intoxicated and in possession of a large amount of cocaine and crack.

FISHKILL, NY — A terrifying single vehicle crash on the Taconic has led to felony charges against the driver.

Shortly before 1 a.m. on October 11, troopers were dispatched to the crash near mile marker 48 on the Taconic State Parkway. Troopers reported that the driver, Katherine Griffin, was intoxicated and in possession of approximately 5.8 grams of cocaine and 3.4 grams of crack-cocaine.

The 55-year-old was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.

Troopers arrested the East Fishkill woman for felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 4th degree, felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree, felony driving while impaired by combined drugs and alcohol with a prior conviction, and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree.

Following her release from the hospital, Griffin was arraigned in the Town of Lagrange Court and she was released on her own recognizance to reappear on November 21.
