Taste Of Rhinebeck Raises More Than $24K

RHINEBECK, NY — The recent Taste of Rhinebeck set a record for number of venues and raises more than $24,000. Dawn Morrison, the organizer of the Northern Dutchess Hospital fundraiser, said the culinary crawl was a success, with the village’s Garden, Mill and East and West Market streets transformed into a food festival Tuesday, April 17.

There were 25 locations where people could sample small plates, desserts and beverages.

“The $24,500 raised at the 14th annual taste will be invested into patient care right here in Rhinebeck,” Morrison, the executive director of the NDH Foundation, said. “We’re so grateful that the village’s culinary treasures and community continue to support us year after year, rain or shine.”

Taste of Rhinebeck is also a competition, and here are this year’s winners:

Appetizer

• People’s choice: Bread Alone, cauliflower-gruyere soup with avocado toast
• Chef’s choice: The Amsterdam, house paté on country toast

Main course

• People’s and chef’s choice: Bangers Gastropub, rock shrimp with chili aioli

Beverage

• People’s choice: Grand Cru Beer & Cheese Market
• Chef’s choice: Old Mill Wine & Spirits

Dessert

• People’s and chef’s choice: Samuels Sweet Shop, next level sensation (Peppermint Patty/Oreo combination)
