Teacher's Assistant In Highland Charged With Rape, Sexual Abuse

The alleged incidents occurred at a residential center for juvenile deliquents run by the state.

MIDDLETOWN, NY — A teacher’s assistant at residential center for juvenile delinquents was arrested for alleged rape and sexual abuse. State Police at Highland said Nicole Potts-Miller, 36, of Middletown was charged with third-degree rape, a felony, and second-degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor.

Police said her arrest was the result of an investigation into allegations that Potts-Miller had sexual contact and engaged in engaged in sexual contact with two residents of the Highland Residential Center on Chodikee Lake Road in Highland.

She was arraigned in the Town of Esopus Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.
