Teen Arrested, Charged With 20 Counts Of Child Sexual Exploitation: NYSP

A National Center for Missing and Exploited Children cybertip led to a search of his Ulster County home, police say.

KERHONKSON, NY — An Ulster County teenager is facing felony charges connected to horrifying images of child sex abuse, according to police.

The New York State Police say that on March 6, the Troop F Computer Crimes Unit arrested 19-year-old Jesse J. Bayetis, of Kerhonkson, and charged him with 20 felony counts related to the promotion of an obscene sexual performance by a child less than 17 years of age.

State police say that Bayetis promoted images consistent with child sexual exploitation depicting infants and children.

The investigation was started after police received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which led to the execution of a search warrant at the Bayetis home in Kerhonkson, on Dec. 19.

Police say this arrest is the result of a collaboration by the New York State Police Troop F Computer Crimes Unit, the Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Ellenville, the Violent Gang Narcotics Enforcement, the Community Stabilization Unit, and the Orange County Child Abuse Unit.

Bayetis was arraigned in Plattekill Town Court Central Arraignment Part and remanded to Ulster County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash, $20,000 secured bond, or $50,000 partially secured bond.

He was scheduled to appear in the Town of Rochester Court on March 11.
