Timeline For Potentially Severe Storms; What To Expect
An isolated tornado is possible, the National Weather Service says. Here's what to expect and when in the Mid-Hudson Valley.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — It's going to be another stormy August night in the Hudson Valley with potentially severe thunderstorms in the forecast. "Severe thunderstorm development is possible this afternoon and evening," the National Weather Service says.
"The primary threat is damaging winds, however an isolated tornado is also possible. There is also a low flash flood threat with the heaviest storms," meteorologists said.
Any thunderstorms should weaken after midnight, but may not completely dissipate like in the early summer.
