Traffic Stop Leads To Gun, Drugs Arrest On TSP
Police said the man was also driving with a suspended license.

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — State police arrested a man from the Bronx for gun and drug possession. Steven Gary, 55, of the Bronx, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all felonies, and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, two counts seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, all misdemeanors.
Troopers said they conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 Mercedes Benz around 6 p.m. Oct. 27 on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Pleasant Valley.
Police said Gary had a suspended state driver's license.

Further investigation found he was illegally in possession of a loaded Smith and Wesson semi-automatic handgun, two loaded 15-round magazines, about 1.5 grams of cocaine, more than 40 grams of marijuana and a small amount of concentrated cannabis.
Gary was arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.

He is next scheduled to appear in court Nov. 1.
