Traffic Stop, Then Pursuit, Leads To Crash In East Fishkill
Police said a Bronx man tried to run from the scene of the crash, but then lost consciousness.
EAST FISHKILL, NY — A traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway in East Fishkill led to a crash Thursday afternoon and sent a Bronx man to the hospital.
The New York State Police said, around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, troopers said they stopped a car on the parkway for speeding.
While being questioned, the driver took off, leaving the Taconic and heading east on Route 52, police said.

Troopers pursued the car, which drove off the road and struck a tree at Overhill Road.
The driver — Allan P. Forbes, 31, of Bronx — tried to run from the scene, police said, but was taken into custody by the troopers. Shortly afterward, he lost consciousness.

Police said Forbes was taken by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.
He was charged with third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, second-degree criminal impersonation and reckless driving, misdemeanors.
Forbes was issued appearance tickets and is set to appear in the East Fishkill Town Court Sept. 28.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
