Tropical Hudson Valley: Poughkeepsie's Work Week Weather
There's a hazardous weather outlook for Middletown and Newburgh. Here's what to expect.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — We kick off the work week feeling like we're in the tropics. The Hudson Valley can expect high humidity and intermittent rain, high dew points and scattered downpours.
"Our strong southeast flow has settled in, and left us with a rather tropical feel," said the guys at Hudson Valley Weather. "We will see this pattern continue into Tuesday and Wednesday."
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

An approaching frontal system late Tuesday night into Thursday morning could produce showers and thunderstorms capable of causing flash flooding. It is still too early to pinpoint exact timing and locations to be impacted.

- Monday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a high near 82. Southeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Monday Night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southeast wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Tuesday: Scattered showers, mainly before 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. South wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Tuesday Night: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Wednesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Cloudy, with a high near 80. South wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
- Wednesday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Cloudy, with a low around 71. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
- Thursday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
