Ulster County Power To Be Restored By Noon Monday
Central Hudson said 41,000 Ulster County customers are still without power Saturday morning. Gov. Hochul is sending state resources.
MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Nearly 62,000 Central Hudson electricity customers had service interrupted Friday because of a relentless ice storm in the Hudson Valley.
The vast amount of damage was to customers in Ulster County, where, as of Saturday morning, more than 41,000 still remain without power.
In a statement, Central Hudson said the storm brought snow and ice to the region Thursday night and most of the day Friday. In some areas, more than 0.6 inches of radial ice, which is a measurement of ice around an object such as a power line or tree branch, fell, causing trees and tree limbs to fall onto power lines, interrupting electric service.
