NEW WINDSOR, NY — Police said a complaint from a customer led to an undercover prostitution investigation of a local massage parlor.

On June 13, the New Windsor Police Department conducted an undercover sting at the A & A Spa, located at 357 Windsor Highway, after receiving a complaint from a customer that prostitution was occurring inside the business. During the investigation, an undercover police officer was offered sexual conduct in return for a fee by an employee of the spa, according to investigators.

Suwan Yang of Flushing was arrested as a result of the probe. The 56-year-old was charged with prostitution. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear on June 28, for arraignment at the Town of New Windsor Justice Court.

"I anticipate additional undercover operations and inspections of these types of massage parlors and spas very soon," Police Chief Robert Doss said in a statement announcing the arrest. "Consider this fair warning to those who operate these types of illicit businesses and to those individuals who visit them. We will not tolerate this type of activity in this town."

Town Supervisor George Meyers echoed the police chief's admonishment, warning customers at establishments where prostitution is found to be occurring will face consequences as well.

“The fact that this is occurring across the road from one of our local schools is troubling to me," Meyers said. "Any future arrests will include the names and addresses of those involved in this illegal activity.”
