V.P. To Deliver West Point Commencement Address

This will be the vice president's second visit to West Point.

WEST POINT, NY — The U.S. Military Academy at West Point announced its commencement speaker for Saturday, May 25. Vice President Mike Pence will give the commencement address for the Class of 2019.

This will mark his first time as graduation speaker and his second visit to West Point.

Upon graduation, cadets are awarded bachelor of science degrees and commissions in the U.S. Army. Afterward, they serve on active duty for a minimum of five years.

Officials said West Point graduates have served the country in a variety of capacities for more than 200 years, as military leaders, engineers, explorers on land and in space, and as leaders in business and government.
