Wappinger Correction Captain Caught Up In Social Media Sex Solicitation Sting
The accused is a captain with the Westchester County Department of Correction.

WAPPINGER, NY — A Westchester County Department of Correction captain who is a resident of the Town of Wappinger was one of 12 men arrested in Queensbury, Warren County, during a sting targeting people who thought they were soliciting sex acts from 9- to 14-year-old girls on social media. Thomas Abrams, 52, of Wappinger, is a 27-year veteran of the department.
Officials said he is on administrative leave, but will be suspended without pay on his return, with disciplinary charges served at a later date, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.
Abrams was charged Thursday with second-degree criminal sexual act, a felony.
