Wappingers School District Budget Gets OK

There was also a $2.2 million bus proposition for the voters to approve.

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, NY — Voters in the Wappingers Central School District approved the 2020-21 budget. The results were released Thursday.

There were 8,151 votes in favor and 4,710 votes against the $245 million spending package. The budget is up 4.29 percent over the current budget.

A $2.2 million bus proposition also was approved by the voters 7,288 to 5,515.

There were four candidates running for three school board positions. The winners are incumbents Peggy Kelland, John C. Lumia and Keith Odums.
