Warmer End To Month: Work Week Weather For Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Aside from a few stray showers passing through the Hudson Valley Monday morning, it seems we are done with serious rain until the end of the work week. Add to that a rise of temperatures and it's not a bad way to end one month and begin another.

"We'll see a warming trend through the week … as a high pressure sets up over the eastern US and western Atlantic," Hudson Valley Weather said. "This will keep the weather tranquil, but moderating in terms of temperatures."

And there's good news for those of you who will be out trick-or-treating on Halloween. Aside from a slight chance of showers in the northern parts of the Hudson Valley, the low Wednesday night will be around 50 degrees.

Here is the forecast for the work week from the National Weather Service for the mid-Hudson Valley.

• Monday: A chance of showers, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 54. West wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. West wind 6 to 8 mph.
• Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 53. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph.
• Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 38. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.
• Wednesday: A slight chance of showers after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 63. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Wednesday Night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Thursday: A chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
• Thursday Night: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 54. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
• Friday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 63. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
• Friday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
