Warwick Native Killed In Crash Of NY National Guard Helicopter
Three pilots were killed when the medevac copter crashed during a training mission.

WARWICK, NY — An Orange County native was one of three pilots killed Wednesday during a routine training mission in Monroe County.
Killed in the crash were Chief Warrant Officer 5 Steven Skoda of Rochester, Chief Warrant Officer 4 Christian Koch of Honeoye Falls and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Daniel Prial of Rochester, who was originally from Warwick.
Prial, 30, was raised in Warwick and graduated in 2012 from the United States Military Academy at West Point, according to his LinkedIn account.

Authorities said a New York Army National Guard UH-60 medical evacuation helicopter based at the Army Aviation Support Facility at Rochester International Airport crashed Wednesday in Mendon, Monroe County.
All three pilots on board were killed.

The aircraft and crew were assigned to C Company of the 1st Battalion, 171st General Support Aviation Battalion and were trained to perform aeromedical evacuation. Officials said the crew had been conducting night vision goggle proficiency training in the area.
