WEST POINT, NY — A 20-year-old West Point cadet faces confinement and dismissal from the U.S. Army after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a female classmate during training. Cadet Jacob Whisenhunt of Maxwell, NE pleaded not guilty to the charge that he assaulted the woman after a day of field training during the summer of 2016.
An Associated Press article at the recordonline.com said sex between the two was consensual, Whisenhunt’s lawyers said.
Whisenhunt was sentenced to 21 years confinement as well as dismissal from the armed services.
