Winds Causing Power Outages In Mid-Hudson Monday

There are about 8,000 Central Hudson customers waiting for the power to come back.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Strongs winds around the region have knocked out electricity for almost 8,000 Central Hudson customers.

As of 11:45 a.m. Monday, there were more than 6,500 Ulster customers without power. The hardest hit towns were Ellenville and Wawarsing with more than 1,500 each. Most had no restoration time estimate.

The town of Newburgh in Orange County made up the bulk of outages with 199. The entire county was seeing about 220. Newburgh should be back online by 2 p.m. Monday, according to Central Hudson.

Dutchess County had almost 1,000 customers without electricity.

The majority of them were in the town of Clinton, with almost 800. Central Hudson estimated Clinton's power to be restored by 2 p.m.
