Winter Weather Advisories For Parts Of Hudson Valley
Travel could be problematic because of a wintry mix Sunday into Monday.

The forecast of a wintry mix means that travel could be dicey for the remainder of the weekend. The National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories for parts of the Hudson Valley. For Dutchess and Ulster counties, a winter weather advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday.
The mixed precipitation expected includes snow, sleet and freezing rain. The wintry mix may change to rain Sunday afternoon, but then transition to snow, sleet and possibly freezing rain Sunday night.
Total snow and sleet accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch are expected.

The higher snow and sleet accumulations will be over the higher terrain.
For Orange and Putnam counties, the winter weather advisory is in effect from midnight Saturday to 6 a.m. Monday.

A period of freezing rain with accumulations of one tenth to one quarter of an inch is possible Saturday night into Sunday.
As the system departs, a wintry mix will then be possible Sunday night, with snowfall accumulations of up to 2 inches possible.
Motorists can plan on slippery road conditions.
For Rockland and Westchester counties, a brief period of freezing rain is possible Saturday night into Sunday afternoon.
Any ice can cause travel difficulties, so motorists should be prepared for the possibility of slippery roads and locally reduced visibilities and use caution while driving.
