Woman Charged With DWI After Kingston Rhinecliff Bridge Crash

Police said the woman crossed over the double-yellow line and struck another vehicle.

RHINEBECK, NY — A two-car collision on the Kingston Rhinecliff Bridge led to the arrest of a Rhinebeck woman. State Police said Nancy Southard, 56, of Rhinebeck, was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

It was determined that Southard’s car crossed over the double-yellow line and struck another vehicle, police said.

Southard was treated at the scene and taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.

An investigation found that she was operating the vehicle ability impaired by alcoholic beverages, police said.

Southard was issued uniform traffic tickets and will appear in the Town of Rhinebeck Justice Court after she is released from the hospital.
