Woman Rescued From Trash Chute

Residents of the senior community heard the woman screaming and called for help.

STAATSBURG, NY — A resident at a senior rental community was rescued Thursday after she became stuck in a trash chute. The woman, who was not identified, lived at Heritage Pointe Apartments in Staatsburg, Dutchess County.

Residents heard the woman screaming and called 911 around 7:30 a.m., the Poughkeepsie Journal said.

Firefighters said she was stuck between the second and third floor.

She was rescued and sent to Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie for treatment, the Journal said.
