Wooden Brush Handle Used As Weapon, Inmate Charged: Sheriff
A fellow inmate on the wrong side of the improvised weapon was hospitalized with a head injury, according to jail officials.

ULSTER COUNTY, NY — The Ulster County Sheriff's Office said on Sunday that a 62-year-old from Kingston, who is an inmate at the Ulster County Jail, was arrested.
The incident took place on August 20, when detectives were told that the inmate got into a physical alteration with another male inmate, while using a wooden brush handle as a weapon.
A 33-year-old victim received a head injury which required hospitalization and medical treatment. He was taken to Health Alliance Hospital St. Mary’s Campus in Kingston.

The 62-year-old was charged with two counts of felony second degree assault and felony second degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was processed for the offenses and remains in the jail. He is scheduled to appear in City of Kingston Court.
Detectives were assisted in their investigation by members of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office Corrections Division.
