MIDTOWN, NY — Good news, theater kids! A program that provides $10 tickets for New York City's public school tenth graders is back for another season, this time with 23 shows on the lineup.
The program, called Broadway Bridges, has been around since 2017 and aims to offer every New York City public high school student the opportunity to attend a Broadway show before graduation.
Since 2017, nearly 135,000 students and chaperones from 487 high schools have been to performances, and just last year, more than 25,000 students and chaperones participated in the program.
Broadway Bridges is an initiative from The Broadway League, the national trade association for the Broadway industry.
"Together, we are striving to ensure that young people from all over New York City have the opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre, fostering the next generation of theatregoers and artists," Jason Laks, president of The Broadway League, said.
