Baby Killed In Hell's Kitchen Shelter, Mother Arrested: Police
Police arrested a woman after her two-month-old son was found dead Sunday inside a Hell's Kitchen shelter.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — An infant was found dead inside a Hell's Kitchen shelter on Sunday, and a woman has been arrested in connection with the boy's death, police said.
Police responded around 12:04 p.m. Sunday to a room at the Candlewood Suites hotel on West 39th Street, which has been repurposed as a shelter, after staff called 911 to report an unconscious infant, police said.
Officers found the boy, identified as two-month-old Antonio Diaz, unconscious and unresponsive, with no visible signs of trauma. He was rushed to Mount Sinai West Hospital, but could not be saved.

Monday afternoon, police arrested 24-year-old Alyssa Owens, believed to be the child's mother. Owens was charged with three counts of assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
Police have not determined how the child was injured, a spokesperson said, and an investigation is ongoing.
