Billionaire's Times Square Billboard: Impeach Trump
Billionaire businessman Tom Steyer has funded a Times Square billboard promoting a petition to impeach President Donald Trump.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — New billboards and advertisements pop up in Times Square every day, but billionaire hedge funder Tom Steyer's new billboard isn't trying to get you to buy anything. Steyer's ad is trying to convince you to impeach president Donald Trump.
"Impeach!" is written in all-caps white letters over a picture of Trump's face on the new billboard. The ad prompts passersby to "sign the petition" launched by Steyer to impeach the president. On the bottom of the billboard is a ticker claiming that more than 2.5 million people have signed the petition so far.
Steyer — who earned his massive fortune at San Francisco-based hedge fund Farallon Capital Management — told Bloomberg that he bought the billboards because "no one is standing up for what the overwhelming number of Americans think.”

Steyer has also launched television ads claiming that Trump is a "clear and present danger" to the United States and has engaged in obstruction of justice, Bloomberg reported.
The president hit back at Steyer via Twitter.

"Wacky & totally unhinged Tom Steyer, who has been fighting me and my Make America Great Again agenda from beginning, never wins elections!" Trump tweeted.
Steyer left the hedge fund world in 2012 to raise funds for Democrat politicians and raise awareness about the dangers of climate change, Bloomberg reported. Forbes estimates that the 60-year-old businessman is worth $1.6 billion. Steyer spent nearly $90 million to support Democrats in the 2016 elections, Forbes reported.
