Luxury Sneaker Service, SNEAKKY KLEAN, Opens New York City Location

Sneakky Klean, a premium sneaker cleaning brand founded by Devonn Vidal, will mark the opening of its New York City location at 342 7th Ave. in Manhattan on Thursday, Feb. 19. Customers who stop by the store during regular business hours (9am - 7pm ET)to drop off shoes will receive a free sneaker care package.

With locations in Miami, Zurich, and Saskatoon, Canada, New York City is the fourth site to open, and while services have been available in Manhattan since January 2nd, the new location marks the expansion of the brand’s retail footprint. To mark the opening of its new location, Sneakky Klean is offering first-time customers a special rate of $50 for two pairs until the end of April.

Prices traditionally start from $34 for a Daily Essentials Klean which tackles dirt, grime and stains on the entire shoe, to a more meticulous high-end cleaning tailored to delicate materials and intricate designs. Rare designer and luxury sneakers will cost more and can climb into the hundreds of dollars. Sneakky Klean also offers a Sneakerhead Membership, a subscription service where clients pay $60 monthly for the cleaning of two pairs. The team also expertly services formal shoes, handbags and a wide range of leather accessories.

Sneakky Klean is more than just a sneaker cleaning service. The global company is a sustainable and technology-forward professional sneaker care and restoration business that was built on quality, innovation, and a deep respect for sneaker enthusiasts and the culture which has roots in the South Bronx.

“New York City is the ultimate hub for sneaker culture. From the subway to Broadway, the passion New Yorkers have for sneakers is evident,” says Vidal. “We are thrilled by the overwhelming love and support we have received as we launch Sneakky Klean in Manhattan.”

Vidal came up with the idea for Sneakky Klean in 2017. A long-time sneakerhead, he was in search of someone to properly clean and service his extensive and valuable collection of sneakers. After some initial research, it became clear that the level of service he was looking for wasn’t available, so he piloted a startup close to home in Miami and the response was undeniable. The positive feedback from early customers and event partners like Crown Royal, UNKWN and Sneaker Buyers was confirmation enough to officially launch Sneakky Klean in Miami in 2019, along with the SNKY mobile app, and a drop off location in Fort Lauderdale.

Vidal’s vision was always to establish a Sneaky Klean location in every major global city, and as the company’s popularity grew in Miami, he knew it was time to expand. In 2022, the service launched in Europe with the opening of an outpost in Zurich, Switzerland. Two years later, a third location was opened in Saskatoon, Canada. These stores demonstrated the ability to successfully replicate the business model around the world, and the Big Apple was up next.

As Sneakky Klean’s popularity grew in Miami, Vidal knew it was time to expand. In 2022, the service went global with the opening of an outpost in Zurich, Switzerland, and two years later, in Saskatoon, Canada. “Scaling was an intrinsic part of the initial business plan, driven by the vision of establishing a Sneakky Klean location in every major global city,” says Vidal. “These stores served as an excellent proof of concept for our scalability, demonstrating our ability to successfully replicate the business model around the world.” The next logical stop was the Big Apple.

In the U.S., the SNKY app is available on both iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store) and boasts a forward integration with UBER asa pickup and delivery partner enabling customers to schedule services at their convenience. Customers who are not based in Miami, Zurich or New York, can ship their shoes to the nearest location.
