Chef To Open Poké Restaurant In Midtown

The eatery will serve up five signature poké bowls and a variety of customizable bowls.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — An accomplished chef will be the latest to capitalize on the growing popularity of Poké — a raw fish salad that originated in Hawaiian cuisine — by opening a new restaurant dedicated to the dish in Midtown next month.

Chef Juan Saurez de Lezo — who most notably served as executive chef at Tavo — will debut his new venture Poké Junké on Monday, Feb. 5, according to a press release.

"Poké Junké will combine traditional poké with Juan's global training and expertise to offer five internationally-inspired signature poké bowls and an endless variety of customizable bowls," the press release reads. "Each signature bowl is a blend of flavors and techniques from around the world, such as Torched Salmon and a Nepali sauce. Though the menu is influenced by traditional poké, Juan and his team are hoping to provide a refreshing perspective on the trend with unexpected flavors and pairings."
