Citi Bike Rider Hit By Truck In Chelsea, FDNY Says
A Citi Bike rider was hit by a truck on West 30th Street and Seventh Avenue Monday morning, said the FDNY

MIDTOWN, MANHATTAN — A Citi Bike rider was hit by a truck in Chelsea Monday morning, said the FDNY.
The woman was hit by a truck at Seventh Avenue and West 30th Street around 11:30 a.m., said the FDNY and a Citi Bike spokesperson. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
The unidentified woman's helmet and blood lay underneath the front wheels of the green truck. The crushed Citi Bike could be seen at the scene, lying on its side and surrounded by debris. Police at the scene said she suffered "severe injuries" and an FDNY spokesman said she was transported to Bellevue Hospital.

A Citi Bike spokesperson responded to news of the woman's accident with the following statement;
"Together with the City of New York, we wish her a full recovery. The safety of our riders continues to be our top priority, and we will keep working with the City of New York on its street safety efforts."

The accident occurred just five blocks away from the first ever Citi Bike fatality that happened in June, when Cyclist Dan Hanegby was fatally struck by a bus.
