Explosions Heard After Bus Catches Fire In Midtown: FDNY
Nobody was hurt in the "small" fire, an FDNY spokesman said. Witnesses described hearing an explosion after the blaze broke out.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — An explosion could be heard in Midtown Manhattan on Friday afternoon after an MTA bus caught fire, witnesses and an FDNY spokesman said.
The bus caught fire on East 37th Street and Third Avenue shortly after 4:10 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said. The spokesman described the blaze as "small" and said nobody was hurt.
People in the area of the fire took to social media to describe hearing an explosion.

"There is a bus on fire outside the midtown tunnel in NYC....sounded like a bomb just went off," one Twitter user wrote.
Another witness took video of firefighters spraying down the bus as plumes of smoke poured out from under the vehicle.
