Fire In Midtown Building Near Bryant Park Injures 3 Firefighters
More than 100 firefighters managed to contain a fire that broke out Wednesday morning in a building near Bryant Park.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — More than 100 firefighters managed to contain a fire that broke out Wednesday morning in a building near Bryant Park, injuring three first-responders.
The blaze began around 8:40 a.m. at 38 West 39th St., a five-story building between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
The fire was mainly on the building's second floor, an FDNY spokesperson said. The building, about two blocks south of Bryant Park, houses the Cuban-Chinese restaurant Calle Dao on the first floor.

Three firefighters were hospitalized with minor injuries, the spokesperson said. The fire was placed under control by 11:14 a.m.

An investigation into what caused the fire was underway, the FDNY said.
