'Immersive' Bathrooms Come To Times Square For Holiday Season
A Times Square storefront is being taken over by stalls that promise an "immersive" and "playful" bathroom experience.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — New York City's public bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. Sure, some offer a clean, comfortable place to go, but most of the city's facilities should probably be burned to the ground.
There's almost no greater sense of dread than getting that sudden urge while you're out on the town. Toilet paper company Charmin — the one with those weird bears who are oddly comfortable about sharing every detail about their toilet paper needs — has stepped in to help. Charmin is opening an entire storefront in Times Square dedicated to providing a quality public bathroom experience, the company announced this week.
The "store" will be located on Broadway between West 48th and 49th streets and house 14 "unforgettable and playful" bathroom stalls that are free to use, Charmin announced.

How is a bathroom playful? These bathrooms promise to "transport people to another place through immersive sights and sounds" with themes such as "Mt. Everest" and "under the sea."
"At Charmin, the thought of a bad bathroom experience is unbearable. When we heard millions of New Yorkers were settling for sub-par options when on the go, we knew we had to step in," David Mullaly, brand manager at Charmin, said in a statement. "The Charmin Restrooms are our way of having their back this holiday season in the best way we know how."

The bathroom celebrated its grand opening Wednesday with a toilet paper ribbon cutting and will be open until Dec. 24, according to a press release. The facilities will be open daily from 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Charmin executives said.
