Italian Chain Returns To NYC With Midtown Eatery: Report
The original Bice Cucina closed in 2014 after a 30-year run in the city.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — An Italian chain restaurant that closed the doors on its original New York City location in 2014 made its return to the city Wednesday when it opened a new location in Midtown Manhattan, according to reports.
Bice Cucina, which has more than a dozen locations worldwide, debuted its newest eatery at 62 W.55th St., located between Fifth and Sixth avenues, Eater New York first reported. The new restaurant will have the capacity to seat 175 diners and will feature an outdoor patio with its own bar, according to the report.
The original location was known for an upscale crowd, but Bice's owners told Eater that the new spot will cater to a more casual, younger crowd.

“This is a more fun Bice, which is geared to a younger audience as well as longtime patrons, and it will be a little more casual,’’ owner Peter Guimaraes told Eater.
Many of the original Bice Cucina's staples such as osso bucco and veal Milanese can be found on the menu in addition to Roman pinsa — a flatbread that is similar to pizza but is lighters and uses less oil — Guimaraes told Eater.
