Man Arrested For Attempted Rape In Columbus Circle Shopping Center Bathroom
The man is accused of climbing underneath a bathroom stall and attempting to rape an 18-year-old.

COLUMBUS CIRCLE, NY — A man is facing charges for attempting to rape an 18-year-old inside a women's restroom at the Shops at Columbus Circle, police told Patch.
Ibrahima Barry, a 24-year-old Bronx residents, entered a restroom on the second floor of the Shops at Columbus Circle around 10 a.m. on Friday, police said. Once inside, Barry entered a bathroom stall and then climbed under a divider and into a stall occupied by an 18-year-old woman, police told Patch.
Barry stood in front of the woman and revealed his underwear, police said. The woman's screams caused Barry to flee the restroom, police told Patch. The 18-year-old did not suffer any physical injuries, police said.

Prosecutors have charged Barry with attempted rape, according to court records. A judge ordered Barry to take a psychiatric exam, and he is currently still in custody, according to the records.
Barry will appear in court again on May 30, according to court records.
