Man Found Dead In Herald Square Subway Station, Police Say

A man was found dead on a platform on the Herald Square subway station Friday morning.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The NYPD is investigating the death of a man who was discovered on a Midtown Manhattan subway platform Friday morning, police told Patch.

Officers discovered a man's body on a platform of the Herald Square subway station at 34th Street and Sixth Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. Friday, police said. The man was unconscious and unresponsive but did not appear to have suffered any trauma, police said.

EMS pronounced the mean dead on the scene, police told Patch.

The city medical examiner will investigate the man's exact cause of death, police said. The identity of the man was not released.
