Two men entered the Niketown store on East 57th Street after it was closed and walked away with a box of retro Air Jordan 11s.
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Two thieves got their hands on a crate of the new Air Jordan sneakers the week before the shoe's highly-anticipated release, police said.
Two men entered the Niketown store on East 57th Street between Madison and Fifth avenues on Monday night and grabbed a box containing several pairs of the Air Jordan 11 Retro “Win Like ’96” sneaker, police said.
The men didn't even have to break in to Niketown, police said. The store was left unlocked after business hours when the thieves pulled off their heist around 10 p.m., police said.

The Air Jordan 11 Retro “Win Like ’96” is an all-red version of the classic sneaker that commemorates the Chicago Bulls' championship season in 1996. The 1996 Bulls are often considered one of the greatest basketball teams ever assembled. The squad had a regular season record of 72–10 and only lost three games in the NBA playoffs. The title was Michael Jordan's fourth championship and his first since coming back to the NBA after retirement.
